November Zoom AGM minutes published
Category: Other
The Federation’s AGM will be held on Sunday 7th November, 2021 at 10.30am via Zoom. The necessary paperwork and a link will be sent out nearer the time but if any club wishes to submit a motion to be considered at the AGM please email details to the Secretary at secretary@southeastcroquet.org.uk to arrive at least 14 days before the date of the meeting.
Sadly our Development Officer, Ian Cobbold, is retiring at the AGM but he will stay on as a CA Council Representative. We are therefore looking for a new Development Officer to support new and existing clubs in our Federation. If you or a member of your Club would like to take on this important role we would very much like to hear from you. Email chairman@southeastcroquet.org.uk
Jonathan Isaacs is retiring from the CA Council after his term of office as the elected member for the South East Constituency.
The election for his replacement is coming up shortly, with a deadline for submission of nominations by 27th July.
So please consider whether you’d like to volunteer for this role, details of which can be seen on the CA site.
If you’re uncertain about this why not talk to one of your friendly Committee Members?

Croquet Academy: Exiting Covid Lockdown
While unsurprising, it is sad that the recently announced Government roadmap for exiting Covid lockdown, supplemented by CA Taskforce guidance, means that, with the exception of our Zoom-based courses, most of our planned courses will have to be rescheduled.
Clubs will not re-open until the end of March. Even with the lawn facilities open and some more relaxations on 12th April, access to the Clubhouse for all participants is important for almost all our courses due to the prevalence of cold weather and the need for some classroom sessions. As this will not be allowed until 17th May, at the earliest, our May courses will have to be rescheduled.
Planning is now in hand to create a revised coaching programme that is both compatible with the latest Covid control measures and minimises the impact on the playing season, when lawn availability is a critical factor.
As soon as a revised schedule can be announced, it will be published on the Academy, SCCC, CA and SECF websites.
