Compton win SouthEast Challenge
There was a field of 8 teams for this event held at Southwick, the weather was fine and the courts were in excellent condition.
The format was to have all teams playing all in best of 5 matches – one doubles and four singles.
From early on the Saturday it was Rottingdean and Compton leading the way,
Both teams remained unbeaten on the Saturday and it was rounds 8 and 9 when the teams played each other.
It was a close run match with Compton coming out on top winning three games against Rottingdean’s two. Compton then remained unbeaten for the remainder of the tournament.
Lodsworth came in third with 5 wins followed by Sussex County, 4 wins who were forth.
