Croquet South East AC Teams Day
Six teams from five clubs came to Sussex County at Southwick for this years AC Teams Day organised by Croquet South East.
This year was the first time the Federation has used a single day for thisĀ tournament, rather than two days; an American block was planned, for 14 point full bisque games.
Although the day was dry there was a very chill and penetrating Northerly wind; coming after the recent beautiful weather it was something of a downer on the day.
To fit in the programme, games of only 1 hour 20 minutes maximum were planned and largely we were able to stick to the programme. However, by tea time, it was apparent that most players had had enough of the conditions so, rather than playing on to what would have been a relatively late finish, and as there was a clear winner, we decided to forego the last round.
The AC Teams Trophy was won by Reigate Priory with 7 out of a possible 8 wins over the day. Their nearest rivals had 5 wins.

Congratulations to the Reigate Priory Team and to all for playing. Thanks very much to Sussex County for providing such good lawns; just a shame their climate control was not to their usual standard!
